Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology (NMIT) was established in 2001 and recently attained Constituent College status under Nitte (Deemed to be University) in October 2024. It is accredited with an ‘A+’ Grade by NAAC, and its eligible undergraduate programs are NBA Tier-1 accredited. The institution focuses on holistic, interdisciplinary learning and holds strategic global partnerships with industry leaders.

The institution offers a wide range of undergraduate engineering (B.Tech) programs with a sanctioned intake of 1,320 students across advanced domains like Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Robotics and AI, VLSI Design, and Computer Science & Business Systems. It also offers B.Sc (Hons) in Pilot Training (Note: Obtaining a Commercial Pilot License involves an additional cost of ₹42 - ₹60 Lakhs). In the 2024-25 academic year, capital expenditure included ₹6.21 Crores for new laboratory equipment and software, ₹3.07 Crores for engineering workshops, and ₹85.3 Lakhs for library resources. Additional capital expenditure on assets accounted for ₹3.01 Crores. Operational expenditures included ₹61.44 Crores for staff salaries and ₹38.78 Crores for maintaining the academic infrastructure. The campus provides extensive residential facilities across 14 dedicated hostel blocks for boys and girls, with annual room rents ranging from ₹1.00 Lakh to ₹1.30 Lakhs and an additional ₹55,000 per annum for mess charges. Over 80% of the campus buildings are physically challenged friendly with dedicated lifts, ramps, and specially designed toilets.

Research and Innovation NMIT demonstrates exceptional research output. In 2024, the institution published 147 patents and was granted 27 patents. During the 2024-25 financial year, the college executed 16 sponsored research projects funded by 12 agencies, receiving ₹95.69 Lakhs. Furthermore, it completed 20 consultancy projects for 19 clients, generating ₹39.53 Lakhs in revenue.

Startup and Entrepreneurship The institution actively supports entrepreneurship through its pre-incubation and incubation activities. In 2024-25, 20 participants were involved in pre-incubation and 3 participants were incubated. Startups like Drones Design and Satellite Communication have been formally recognized by DPIIT/Startup India. The college also received significant innovation grants, including ₹2.5 Lakhs from ATAL and multiple grants from KSCST for advanced defense robotics.
