StepVista is an independent educational discovery platform. Our mission is to provide students with transparent, accessible, and structured data regarding engineering and medical institutions in Karnataka.

To ensure objectivity and reliability, our data architecture is fundamentally built on public statutory disclosures and official government sources.

Sources of Information

The data presented on StepVista is aggregated from the following official public repositories:

1. National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF): We utilize the official NIRF data submitted by institutions to the Ministry of Education, Government of India. This includes metrics on student intake, graduation outcomes, placement statistics (median salaries), and capital expenditure.
2. All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE): For approval statuses, approved intake capacities, and institutional classifications.
3. Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA): For historical seat matrices, admission cutoffs (KCET/NEET), and official government-mandated fee structures.
4. Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK): For private quota cutoffs and associated fee structures.
5. All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE): For broader institutional classification.
6. Public Institutional Websites: For supplementary information such as specific course names and public campus amenities.

Data Normalization & Processing

Data from these diverse sources is ingested and normalized to create a unified profile for each institution.

• Placement Data: Average and Median salaries are strictly derived from NIRF disclosures unless a verified newer public disclosure is available. StepVista does not intentionally alter, estimate, or inflate these figures and endeavors to reproduce the underlying disclosures accurately.
• Fees: Tuition fees represent the standard official mandatory fees per the latest KEA/COMEDK notifications. These do not include hostel, transport, or miscellaneous institutional fees which vary significantly.
• Cutoffs: Historical closing ranks are exact representations of the final round allotments published by KEA and COMEDK.

Update Frequency

StepVista operates on an annual verification cycle, aligning with the major admission periods (typically May-August). Institutional profiles are audited and updated sequentially when new NIRF or KEA data is released.

While StepVista makes reasonable efforts to maintain accurate and current information, educational data is subject to change. Information presented on this platform may contain delays, omissions, transcription errors, or updates that have not yet been reflected.

Prospective students should independently verify admission criteria, fees, placements, rankings, approvals, and other material information directly with the relevant institution and official regulatory authorities before making enrollment decisions.

We make reasonable efforts to accurately reflect public statutory disclosures. However, institutions remain the authoritative source for the most current information. If your institution has updated its public disclosures or if you identify a transcription discrepancy on your profile, we welcome corrections.

Institutions interested in maintaining a verified profile or providing updated public disclosures may contact StepVista through the institutional review process.

How to request a correction: Please email compliance@stepvista.com with the following:

1. Institution Name
2. Your Name and Designation (Authorized Representative)
3. Must be sent from an official institutional email domain (e.g., @college.edu.in)
4. The specific data point that is disputed or outdated
5. A link to the official updated statutory disclosure or supporting document

StepVista reviews all verified correction requests within 10 business days to ensure our platform remains as accurate and helpful to students as possible.
