How is the KCET rank calculated?
KEA uses a 50:50 composite score formula. 50% weightage comes from your 2nd PUC Board Marks (Physics + Chemistry + Math out of 300) and 50% from your KCET exam score (out of 180). The formula is: Composite = (Board PCM / 300 × 50) + (KCET Score / 180 × 50).
Do Board marks really matter that much for KCET rank?
Yes - Board marks contribute exactly 50% of your final composite score. A student scoring 280/300 in boards gets 46.7% from boards alone, while someone with 210/300 gets only 35%. That's an 11.7% gap - equivalent to roughly 20+ marks difference in KCET.
What is the Gravity Alert in this tool?

To be eligible for Engineering (General Category), you must have a minimum aggregate of 45% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) in your 12th/2nd PUC board exams. For SC/ST and OBC candidates, the minimum aggregate required is 40%.
What happens if I fail in one or more subjects in 2nd PUC?
To get a KCET rank for Engineering, you must pass all three subjects (PCM) with at least 35 marks in each. If you fail in only one subject, you are considered 'Exempted' but must clear the supplementary exam to secure a seat. If you fail in more than one subject, you are ineligible for a rank until all subjects are cleared.
