BMSCE offers one of the most diverse ranges of engineering programs in Karnataka. For the 2026-27 academic session, the institution has opened admissions for its four-year B.E. programs under various quotas.

Academic Eligibility (B.E. Programs)

• General Merit: 45% aggregate in Physics and Mathematics (compulsory) plus one optional subject (Chemistry/Bio-Tech/Biology/CS/Electronics). English is a mandatory language requirement.
• Reserved Categories (SC/ST/OBC Karnataka): 40% aggregate in the above subjects in the qualifying examination.
• Lateral Entry: Diploma holders must have 45% (40% for reserved) in final year (5th and 6th semester) marks.
• Entrance Examinations: Mandatory qualification in KEA (KCET), COMEDK, or JEE Paper-I is required for all engineering admissions, including management seats.

Official Admission Protocols

The institution strictly discourages admissions through agents. For verified guidance on management quota seats, candidates are advised to visit the Director (Admissions) at the International Division, Platinum Jubilee Block on the BMSCE campus. The admission office operates Monday-Friday (10:00 AM - 4:00 PM) and remains closed on Sundays and government holidays.

Postgraduate (PG) Admission & Eligibility

BMSCE offers advanced technical and management programs with the following eligibility mandates for 2026-27:

• M.Tech: Requires a valid GATE score or Karnataka PGCET. Candidates must have a B.E./B.Tech in a relevant discipline with 50% aggregate (45% for Karnataka SC/ST/Cat-I).
• MBA: Open to graduates in any stream with 50% aggregate (45% for Karnataka reserved). Mandatory qualification in PGCET or KMAT is required.
• MCA: Requires a Bachelor’s degree with Mathematics/Statistics/CS as a subject and 50% aggregate (45% for Karnataka reserved). KMAT or PGCET qualification is mandatory.

Research Programs (PhD & M.Sc Engg)

BMSCE is a recognized center for advanced research under VTU. Doctoral and M.Sc. (Engineering) programs are available in the following departments:

BMS College of Engineering (BMSCE), Bangalore, holds the distinct honor of being the first private sector initiative in engineering education in India. Established in 1946, the institution has completed over 78 years of service to technical education.
