KCET 2026 Preparation: The Ultimate 60-Day Study Plan

KCET 2026 is scheduled for April 23 and 24, 2026. With Board exams wrapping up in March, you have a critical window of focused preparation time. Here’s exactly how to use it.

The Post-Board Window - Your Golden Opportunity

Most students experience a dangerous drop in momentum after Board exams. They relax, lose their study rhythm, and scramble in April. Don’t be that student.

Why this window matters:

• No school, no lab exams - pure, uninterrupted study time
• Board prep covers 80% of CET syllabus - you’re already warmed up
• Syllabus split: 60% weightage from 2nd PUC, 40% from 1st PUC - focus accordingly

The 60-Day Plan

Phase 1: Recovery & Restart (Days 1–7, Late February / Early March)

• Take 2–3 days to decompress after Board exams
• Collect all CET study materials and previous year papers
• Take a diagnostic test - solve KCET 2025 paper to identify weak areas
• List your top 5 weakest chapters across all 3 subjects

Phase 2: Targeted Revision (Days 8–30, March)

• Dedicate 6–7 hours/day to CET prep
• Physics focus: Optics, Electrostatics, Semiconductors (high weightage, frequently tested)
• Chemistry focus: Organic Chemistry reactions, Electrochemistry, Solutions
• Maths focus: Calculus (Integration + Differentiation), Matrices, Probability
• Solve 30 MCQs per subject daily
• End-of-week mini test every Sunday (60 questions, 80 minutes)

Phase 3: Mock Test Mode (Days 31–50, Early April)

• Switch to full-length mock tests - 3 per week minimum
• Simulate real exam conditions (no phone, timed, no breaks)
• After each mock: analyse wrong answers, note weak topics
• Target: Complete at least 8–10 full mock tests before exam day

Phase 4: Final Sprint (Days 51–60, April 13–23)

• No new topics. Only revision and formula sheets
• Revise your error log from mock tests
• Focus on your strongest subjects first (maximize score, not coverage)
• Sleep 7+ hours on April 22. Arrive at center 30 minutes early

The KCET 50:50 composite formula means your Board marks carry equal weight to your entrance score:

Final Rank = (50% × KCET Score) + (50% × Standardized Board PCM Marks)
